JAL revises on Asian routes
The JAL Group (JAL) has announced revisions to its route, flight frequency and fleet plan for the winter schedule 2010. From 31 October, the Japanese national carrier will decrease the carrying capacity on routes from Tokyo’s Narita airport to three Asian destinations; Seoul (Incheon), Singapore and Tianjin, while increasing capacity on flights to Jakarta. The Seoul and Singapore services will be reduced from a Boeing 777 to the smaller B767, while Tianjin flights will be operated using a B737, in place of the B767. Jakarta services will be increased from the B777-200 to a B777-300, which offers JAL’s fully-reclining First Class ‘JAL Suite’. Meanwhile flights from Narita to Delhi will be increase from three to four times per week, while Narita-Moscow services will be cut from three times to twice a week.
ANA downsizes Asian routes from Narita
All Nippon Airways has announced its Winter Schedules for 2010-11, with several Asian routes seeing a decline in frequency of aircraft capacity. One of the airline’s two daily Tokyo Narita-Beijing services will be downgraded from a Boeing 767 aircraft to an Airbus A320, while Narita-Shenyang services will be reduced from daily to three flights a week. The airline’s B777 will be taken off its Narita-Hong Kong route, replaced by a B767, while Narita-Taipei services are cut from twice daily to daily. As previously announced, the airline will also launch new flights from Narita to both Manila and Jakarta, while one daily service to Shanghai Pudong will be upgraded from an A320 to a B777.
